In BES 4.1 there was an option to remotely wipe BlackBerry devices.

In BES 5 it exists to , but you need to dig little bit to find it.

It is located under:
BlackBerry solution management > User > Search for required user> Click the users PIN number> at the bottom of the page press on  “Delete all device data and disable device”

Default behavior of BES server is to avoid deleting emails with shift+delete.The BES needs to ‘see’ the deleted emails in the deleted items folder  otherwise it won’t remove them from the BB device.

In order to make shift+delete work you need to change to True feature called “Hard deletes reconciliation”

You can find the option under: BlackBerry Solution topology > BlackBerry Domain > Component View > Email >

Under Messaging press on Edit Instance and change Hard deletes reconciliation to True.

RIM released they OS v6 for 9700 devices.

After installation is finished

Go to c:program filescommon filesresearch in motionapploader and delete the file named “vendor.xml.”
Plug in BB device and double click on “Loader.exe.” that is located in same folder as “vendor.xml.”
Follow the wizard and you are done.

While trying to connect to BES Monitoring via web browser you may receive the following error message 

The application has encountered a system error. Please report this error to the System Administrator or "Page cannot be found"

This is a known issue and can be solved by following the steps bellow.

1. Stop BlackBerry Monitoring related services
2. Change server date to September 1st 2010
3. Navigate to C:Program FilesResearch In MotionBlackBerry Enterprise ServerMonitoring Servicebin and rename web.keystore file to web.keystore.old
4. Open command prompt as administrator
5. Navigate to C:Program Files(x86)Research In MotionBlackBerry Enterprise ServerMonitoring Servicebin
6. Run the following command in command prompt window WebGenKey.bat "C:Program Files (x86)Javajre1.6.0_18" "C:Program Files (x86)Research In MotionBlackBerry Enterprise ServerMonitoring Service" newpasword Server FQDN
7. Open registry editor (regedit)
8. locate HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareResearch In MotionBlackBerry Enterprise ServerMonitoring Service
9. Change the value in KeyStorePass to the password you used in script in line 6
10. Start BlackBerry Monitoring related services
11. Try to log in to web console
12. Change time back to normal

While migrating from older version of blackberry server you will want to take your configured policies from there.

Export Policy

In order to export policies from BES 4.1 download and install BES Resource kit . Download the resource kit for 5.0 version and install it on your new server (You can export policies remotely)

After you install Resource Kit run command prompt as administrator
Navigate to C:Program Files (x86)Research In MotionBlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource KitBlackBerry AMT Tools
Type the following command “ITPolicyImportExport.exe -n sourceBESname -db databasename –export”
Type desired filename

Chose which policy to export

Policy files will be saved by default under the following path: C:Users%username%AppDataRoamingResearch In MotionAMT

Usually this error message appears in BES server Application Log and has been followed by messages like.

[SERVICE_RELAY_SESSION:xxxxxxxx] Relay Ping Response not received
[SRP] DispatcherSRP Connection dropped, Error=0
[SRP] Ping Response not received
[SERVICE_RELAY_SESSION:S30268090:017339d0] Too many relay ping failures – dropping connection. Failures: 10

Such errors may prevent normal BES server functionality . There are various symptoms
You  may experience issues with activation, address book lookup, email delivery.

Usually errors are been as result of bad network connectivity:

1. Network adapter drivers
2. FW on BES server or corporate firewall : Set monitoring to tcp port 3101
3. Ping your xx.srp.blackberry.com

Go to BlackBerry Server Configuration and on BlackBerry Router tab check connectivity:
                

Restart your blackberry services.

Select Options

Select Security Options

Select General Settings

Press the Menu key and then select Wipe Handheld

A warning pop-up window will appear. Press Continue
( Don’t mark “Include third party applications”
It will delete all application you installed and return device to factory defaults)

Enter the word Blackberry in the pop-up window that just appeared

• Wipe BB Device

• Go to Options
• Select Security Options.
• Select General Settings
• Click the Menu key
• Select Wipe Handheld
• Click Continue
• Type “blackberry”. All the data on the BlackBerry device is erased.

• In the Address Book, click the trackwheel/trackball and select Options.
• Click the trackwheel/trackball and select Change Option. Select YES for Wireless Synchronization.
• Click the trackwheel/trackball and select Save.

• Go to "Calendar"
• Go to "Options"
• Verify "Wireless Synchronization" set to "Yes"

Note: When activating new /wiped device messages are been synced with the following criteria
older than 7 days and not more than 350 messages are forwarded to the device.
This a default setting of the BlackBerry Server and can be modified on BES Server.

To fix that you need to open BES manager on your blackberry server.

1. Select servername_MDS-CS_1
2. Select the Connections Tab and click Edit Properties
3. Under General navigate to Flow Control
4. Change Maximum KB/Connection settings to 1024
5. Restart the Blackberry MDS Connection Service

That should solve BB Error 413 errors

You may see this error when you try to accept recurrence meeting ,which time was been updated.

To resolve this issue:

1. On the BES Server, click Start > Run and type regedit.
2. Navigate to the following registry HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0OutlookOptionsCalendar.
3. Right-click the Calendar folder and click New > DWORD Value.
4. Type DisableMeetingRegeneration and press ENTER.
5. Double-click the new key and type 1 in the Value data field of the Edit String screen.
6. Click OK and close the Registry Editor.

Go to your device and delete BIS CICAL service book

To delete CICAL on BB device go to Settings–>Advanced Options –> Service Books
Locate BIS CICAL and delete it.

Than go to your BlackBerry Enterprise server , right click on user and pres “Resend Service Book”

Restart your device and meeting accepts should start working.
