Few months ago I discovered a product that can save company expanses and provides , very good NAS/ISCSI solution that allows running various industry-leading solutions like VMware ESX and ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008

StarWind Enterprise Server is reliable a software application that can be installed on Windows server and turn it into a scalable SAN .
Now you can enjoy all storage benefits like

Synchronous Data Mirroring:

Storage replication over WAN:

Snapshot capabilities

High Availability server clustering

Efficient disks Thin Provisioning:

The upcoming 5th version will provide the customers with more solutions, the one I’m really excided about is the Highly Available automated failover on a per-volume basis it eliminates single point of failure and provides better solution for your infrastructure.

Since traditional HA SAN systems are very expensive , I recommend giving StarWind Enterprise Server a chance . It is an enterprise-class fault tolerance and protection product without the high price and complexity of proprietary vendor solutions.

More info can be found on vendor site : http://www.starwindsoftware.com/starwind-enterprise-server

You connect new ISO image and try to boot from it , but instead booting from Image , VMware loads installed OS , sounds familiar?

Here what you should check:

First make sure that CD room or image are selected as “Connected” and “Connect at power on”
By default VM machine tries to boot first from attached CD device

If you still can’t boot navigate to Options>Boot Options and in the right pane under “force BIOS Setup” select "The next time the virtual machine boots, force entry into the BIOS setup screen”

After you start VM machine you will be able to access BIOS settings and Edit boot priority.
